Daniel Palpa is a Helsinki based filmmaker and visual artist.
His work examines belief, media, and ideology in contemporary society. Working across moving image, sculpture, photography, and installation, Palpa creates environments where consumer seduction and sacred iconography collide, and inherited narratives begin to unravel.
Drawing on a background in filmmaking, music, and a bicultural upbringing between Latin America and Europe, Palpa’s practice spans textiles, cast metals, stone, ceramics, kinetic elements, and multiple forms of projection.
He holds both a BFA and an MFA from Uniarts Helsinki’s Academy of Fine Arts and has exhibited in Finland, Serbia, Germany, and Austria.
